New Business
The new (2006) Colorado Springs office (Department 049/350), which specializes in military master planning, has scored a number of year-end wins with the Corps of Engineers. Several of these projects are high-intensity fast-moving infrastructure capacity studies that will involve several other HDR offices, emphasizing the synergy that can be created through growth by acquisition.

Utility and transportation capacity analyses are ongoing at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Fort Carson, Colorado; Forts Hunter Liggett and Irwin, California; and the Yakima Training Center in Washington. Engineering support from the Pasco, San Diego, Denver, and Omaha offices as well as many long hours by the Colorado Springs staff will move this series to completion by November 10.

Additional contracts were awarded for an Installation Master Plan at Camp Navajo, Arizona, a Real Property Master Plan for the United States Army Reserve Command’s Seattle Metroplex, a charrette Area Development Plan for the Fort Carson Brigade Combat Team (Light) in the Wilderness Road section of the post, and on-site planning support for the Louisiana Army National Guard.

In addition, comprehensive master planning that the Colorado Springs office has done with the Headquarters US Forces, Korea over the past 3 years was instrumental in the recent award of the $300 million base hospital construction project to the Team of TJ Davis (Seoul, Korea) and HDR Architecture, another example of One Company, Many Solutions in action.
